I heard the cricket<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the thicket,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

at the dusk of day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

chirping,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

chirping,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

as I heard it<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

chirp away.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I liked that sound<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

with its resound<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

that seemed <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

to increase<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

from the ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet the cricket<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

was not found.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cricket patterned<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

with another cricket<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

then another.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

a cricket chorus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

chirping like no other.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sun went down.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sky went dark.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I could hear<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

all of the chirping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

from the crickets with spark.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are they chirping?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is it,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

they say?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do crickets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

chirp at night,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

more than<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have many questions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

that I’d like to know.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet I cannot catch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the crickets,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

for off they run and go.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<=><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can study<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

about crickets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

learn from their ways.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope I hear<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

them chirping,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

at the dusk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

of my play days.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
